Sash window

Sash window
A sash window, also known as a guillotine window or a vertical window, is a traditional window particularly popular in English and American architecture. They are valued for their classic and elegant appearance. They are often used in renovations of historical buildings and in new constructions that draw inspiration from traditional architecture. A characteristic feature of this type of window is its unique opening mechanism, which involves vertical sliding of window frames. A sash window usually consists of two moving frames, called wings, which can move vertically inside the window frame. Wings can be divided into smaller panes, separated by mullions, a characteristic stylistic element of this type of window.
