Anhydrite base

Anhydrite base
Anhydrite base, also known as anhydrite filler, is a type of subfloor made of anhydrite plaster. It is a popular alternative to traditional cement fillings, especially appreciated due to its unique properties. Anhydrite bases consists mainly of anhydrite plaster and a mixture of water and additives improving properties such as plasticisers. Anhydrite is an anhydrous form of plaster: it does not contain water molecules in its crystalline structure. Anhydrite substrates dry faster than traditional cement fillings and often achieve higher strength. However, they require adequate ventilation for effective drying. They are especially recommended for use with floor heating systems, because they perfectly conduct heat and provide even heat distribution. They should be used with caution in areas exposed to high humidity. They are often seen as more ecological compared to cement, mainly due to lower CO2 emissions during production.
